“My current work focuses on representing the idea that humans are built with layers. These layers are our individual depth, a culmination of emotions, feelings, thoughts and personal experiences that we encounter throughout our lives that create the person we are.

Year after year, layers have been added, they have been shed and more are discovered. It’s remarkable that we feel so deeply and in many ways similarly. We lead completely different lives, yet can relate to one another on an emotional level. I aim to tie those similarities together to find a connection through shared emotions, creating a bond between my audience and I. I want my audience to look at my work and think to themselves, “I have felt that. I understand that. I find comfort in knowing someone else has felt that too.

My process of creating is entirely intuitive. Using acrylic paint and other mixed media, I start by making a mark and responding to it. Instinctively choosing pigments, creating texture, line, layers and vulnerably sharing words from my heart.”
